TWIB NOTES:
The Yankees Win! in the 45 division semifinals on Saturday, The Yankees played a very talented Blue Jays squad. At this time of year, injuries play a factor. The Jays had key injuries to 3B / P Chris Mckee who was limited to DH. But so too were the Yankees short handed... Lead off hitter Al Simm has been in hospital and Jamie Alexander was a scratch with a lower body injury. The Game was well played by both teams, but the Yanks got by with a 4-1 win. In the 1-4 semi, The Capers were short handed a both their 1 and 2 starters were on the shelf. The Mets threw their Ace Kris Dewolf, and though the Capers scratched and clawed for 6 runs, it wasn't quite enough as the Mets held on for a 7-6 victory. In the 5/6 game, the Cubs got by the Gaurdians.
In the Classics division, the Astros continued their dominant season taking out the Expos and Red Sox got by the Monarchs 8-5. Again the Monarchs were short handed with Coach and Ace of the Staff Albert Slaunwhite out after a devastating injury in the fall classic tournament.
On Championship Sunday, The Jays took on the Cubs and prevailed with a walk off win.
in the other game the guardians picked up heir first win of the season, over an injury riddled Capers team.
The Championship game featured once again the Subway series Mets vs Yankees. The Game saw the Mets over come a first inning Yankees run and jump ahead 3-1 after the 4th inning. The Yankees tied it in the 5th and scored two more in the 6th to take a 5-3 lead into the 7th. The Top of the 7th, the Yankees exploded with a spot to put the game in hand. The Mets would tack on a run in the bottom half, but Yankees were the better team on the that day and took home the trophy with a 10-4 victory.
In the Classics division, The Astros completed their undefeated season with a well played 7-1 victory over the Red Sox in the Championship game... Congrat to Coach Bobby Shea for all his work in a memorable season. PS...the Yankees win a Championship and the Red Sox lose one ( sorry Wayne) it's a double bonus for me personally.
If you missed the email, This was a sweet way to end my tenure at the helm of the Yankees. It's a little bitter sweet not to be defending the title next year, but it does feel good to go on on top.
Thanks to all the players, umpires, coaches, fans, and refreshments crew for everything you do.
See you around the field.
Thanks!

TWIB Notes for Saturday September 26th 2020
Expos Notch 1st Playoff Victory in Franchise's Short History
It may have taken an extra frame to get it done, but the Expos dropped the Capers to the consolation B final with a 6-5 win. The Expos will play the Tigers in tomorrow's B final after the Tigers trounce the Monarchs 9-3. In the A bracket of the playoffs, The Yankees trailed the Cardinals 1-0 until the 6th inning when small ball took over. The Yankees tied it without a hit in the top of the 6th. Then in the 7th, The Yankees scored 2 more to make the final 3-1 in a well played game on both sides. In the other game, The Mets shutout the Red Sox 8-0 and will face the Yankees in yet another showdown to settle the the league title.
TWIB Notes for Sunday September 13th 2020
Yankees Skipper puts jobs on the line in pregame motivational speech. " I simply told our players that we were too good team not to be in the top division playoff bracket." The players responded with an 8-2 victory to finish in 3rd spot. The Mets put their near perfect record on the line and defeated the Red Sox 7-1 handing the Red Sox an identical record as the Capers for 4th, but the Red Sox held the tie-breaker over the charging Capers, who had won their finale earlier in the day, 11-5 over the Expos. Elsewhere, The Tigers defeated the Monarchs 12-3 in their season finale. Congratulations to all players, coaches and fans for a great season. Playoff matchups are set in 2 weeks as next weekend had been set aside for the league's annual 45+ tournament.
TWIB Notes Just for Gary Burns August 29th 2020
Expos notch one in the Win Column
In the days final game, the Red Sox got some humble pie delivered for dessert. Gary Burns reported the Expos had participation from the entire team in a 7-5 win over the Red Sox. Elsewhere, the Tigers borrowed some pitching to defeat the Cardinals 5-3. Not sure to notch the win in the Tigers Win Column or Monarchs as Rentals also provided most of the key hits. In the morning games, The Mets defeated the Capers in a close one 5-2. In the opener today In what was c loser game than the final would dictate, The Yankees erupted for 6 runs in the 7th inning to put he game out of reach, make the final 10-3. it was only 4-2 after 6 complete.
